Upstate Veterinary Specialties, PLLC is a growing, privately-owned specialty and emergency practice located in upstate New York.  As a privately owned hospital, the practice owners are active clinicians who take a team approach to manage the hospital.  They make themselves accessible to the staff and are dedicated to making UVS the ideal veterinary practice for employees.

Our leadership, administration teams, doctors, and medical staff all work together in a collaborative environment to achieve our mission - helping pets live longer, happier lives through expert medical care and compassionate client service. Due to our increasing caseload, we are seeking Fast-track Clinicians to join our existing team of board-certified specialists including:

Our internal urgent care service will provide a fast-track option for outpatients with non-emergent conditions.   Some types of cases that the Urgent Care team will evaluate and treat include but are not limited to: coughing or kennel cough, nail issues - broken or bleeding, lacerations, allergic reaction/vaccine reaction, bleeding skin tumors, toxicities, parasites – fleas, tapeworms, ticks, dehydration, decreased appetite and other non-emergent conditions.

Our clinicians are supported by highly educated licensed veterinary technicians, assistants, client relations specialists, and administrative staff.

Our Facility

Our hospital is a custom-built, 40,000-square-foot facility. Our hospital also includes a 1.5T MRI, 64 slice CT scanner with power injector, digital x-ray, underwater treadmill, multi-parameter telemetry, endoscopy suite, multiple surgery suites, full diagnostic laboratory, in-house pharmacy, and everything else you could want to practice high-quality medicine.

In doing so, we are available full time for veterinary specialty referral services. Our hospital in Latham, NY offers 24 hour continuous care for our patients following surgical and other procedures if they are not yet ready to return home. Due to our Emergency Service, patients who arrive for urgent treatment may be transferred for specialty care if appropriate the following morning. The hospital’s available technologies include on-site advanced diagnostic imaging, including MRI.
