Advanced Veterinary Care (AVC) is a brand new state-of-the-art urgent care and specialty hospital located in the beautiful and always growing city of Orlando, Florida. We are committed to providing high quality specialty and urgent care to patients in the Orlando and surrounding areas. Advanced Veterinary Care is Central Florida’s newest, privately owned urgent care and specialty hospital, opening early 2023.  We are seeking a candidate who is a great communicator, able to prioritize tasks and is detail oriented. Our goal is to provide prompt care for non life-threatening illness, and to relieve some of the pressure from our local ER hospital and referring veterinary community.

Our Urgent Care Veterinarian will: 

  • Develop rapport with clients; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical procedures to deliver high quality care for our patients 
  • Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client; educate clients on preventative health care and nutritional products 
  • Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service 
  • Be a strong communicator, have a team-player mentality, and value collaboration 
  • Participate in ongoing education, seminars, and training as appropriate
  • Treat every client like family and each patient like your own pet 

 

What we offer: 

  • Unique support staff structure which includes client care liaisons, coordinators to bolster traditional roles (such as CSR, assistant, technicians). The goal is curating a new team perspective with additional support staff roles and technology to optimize workflow, allowing our doctors to focus on patient care/medicine and optimize work-life balance for all.

  • High-definition video-endoscopes (flexible and rigid scops to accommodate most procedures, including after hour foreign body removals). 
  • 16 slice GE CT Scan 
  • Digital radiography 
  • Fully equipped in-house laboratory, including digital cytology 
  • Dedicated high quality portable ultrasound machine allowing FAST scans for urgent care, in addition to access for comprehensive ultrasound by boarded internist. 
  • 24/7 access to board certified Surgery and Internist. 
  • Extensive library access to journals and online resources including VIN. 
  • Collaborative teaching environment which will include: daily patient/cage side rounds, journal club, M&M rounds, book review/topic rounds and more

Qualifications: 

  • Must have a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited university 
  • License must be in good standing to practice within the state of Florida 
  • Veterinary experience (3 years preferred) 
    • Urgent Care experience (1 year preferred) or internship trained. 
  • The ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members. 
  • A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine, upholding the veterinary code of ethics 
  • Collaborate with all doctors within the practice and referring community. 
  • Serve as a resource for our incredible referral community, as well as our support staff.
