Southwood Drive Animal Clinic Seeks Associate Veterinarian

Our well-established hospital has 2 full time and 3 part time veterinarians and an excellent team! Our DVMs leverage and utilize our support staff to the fullest, which allows our doctors to practice medicine and surgery, while our technicians carry out doctor's orders. Our veterinarians believe strongly in staying current and offering the best medicine. We have a great environment for mentoring and supporting your special interests in medicine and surgery. We encourage sharing clinical knowledge with staff members so they can be better caregivers.

We offer many services to our clients and patients including in-house laboratory, digital radiography, Oncura ultrasound, video endoscopy, Companion class IV laser and PRP therapies, soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, dentistry, and boarding.

We are looking for a veterinarian with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be interested in working in a collaborative environment with an eagerness to learn.  Mentors are available to help you grow! Salary $120,000+ (negotiable), signing bonus, medical insurance allowance, dues and licenses paid, performance bonus, CE allowance, paid vacation, and access to VIN.

Basic Qualifications

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university. 
• Licensure in good standing to practice in Texas.
• Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Work collaboratively with hospital team members.
• Make decisions confidently and effectively.
• Manage time and tasks appropriately.
• Model a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients.
• Committed to ongoing educational development and growth.

Job Responsibilities

• Build rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with their concerns
• Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort. 
• Communicate with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
• Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols.
• Stay current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
• Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service. 
• Present a positive image of the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
