The Cat Clinic of Asheville is looking for a part-time veterinarian to join our close-knit team of cat weirdos.

We are looking for an experienced veterinarian to work anywhere from 1 to 2.5 days a week. The perfect candidate will express a genuine love for cats, dedication to low stress handling, passion for high quality compassionate medical care, and the right personality to fit in with our amazing staff. We encourage lifelong learning and collaboration, and would love to know what you are passionate about! Surgical skills or certification in eastern medicine modalities would be considered a major bonus. Located in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina, the Cat Clinic is a boutique-style clinic that focuses on providing high quality, low stress care to the cats of Western North Carolina. The clinic is certified as Gold Standard Cat Friendly by the American Association of Feline Practitioners and is staffed with Low Stress and Fear Free Certified staff and doctors.  We are generously staffed with highly experienced technicians and assistants - our average medical staff member has 8 years of veterinary experience! You will not be placing catheters or taking x-rays - our doctors do “doctor stuff”. We have all the bells and whistles for full medical work ups and surgery, but we also encourage referral to our local specialty clinics when you feel it is in the best interest of your patient. We are open Monday through Friday with no regular weekend hours. And with three 24-hour emergency facilities operating within 25 miles of the clinic, we are lucky to be able to refer emergencies to the appropriate facility as needed.

We take the culture and working environment within our clinic very seriously. We believe whole-heartedly in the importance of work-life balance and maintaining enjoyment and fulfillment in what we do. The clinic is privately owned and managed in a team oriented approach. Most importantly, we do not tolerate belligerent, aggressive, or otherwise abusive behavior from our clientele - we want to work with our clients, not against them!

Compensation will be a base hourly salary to account for all the time you work (including those pesky call backs) plus production bonus (no negative accrual). Benefits include a CE stipend, discounted veterinary care, uniform allowance, and licensure reimbursement.

DVM or equivalent.  At least one year of experience preferred but would consider a new graduate with the right personality.
