Associate Veterinarian Conchester Animal Hospital - Boothwyn, PA Conchester Animal Hospital was first constructed in 1960 deriving its name from the adjacent Conchester Highway. Dr, Mead Shaffer and Dr,. Donald Skinner conceived the idea while they were in the same class in veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Shaffer's father was a stone mason by trade and with some additional help they literally built the original part of the hospital. Dr. Shaffer and Skinner originally lived at the hospital during its early years. Since then a large kennel was added to house the ever growing needs of hospitalized pets.
