Retama is the premier equine primary care and referral hospital in the heart of South Texas. We have been in business since 1995 and are currently the only equine multi-doctor practice in our area. Our dedicated, experienced team enjoy a strong culture and collaborative environment.
Retama Equine Hospital is in search of an enthusiastic, energetic ambulatory veterinarian to join our team of client minded practitioners. We are a busy five doctor emergency and referral hospital near San Antonio, Texas with a diverse and broad caseload across may different disciplines.
Our well-equipped hospital includes:
- Full-time Boarded Surgeon on staff
- Three treatment areas
- 20 hospital stalls
- 4 isolation stalls
- 3 ICU stalls
- 16 paddocks
Our Caseload includes General Medicine and Preventative Care, Emergency, Orthopedics, Sports medicine, Soft tissue, Dentistry, Reproduction, Racetrack, Chiropractic Acupuncture.

We are located on the north side of San Antonio, a culturally diverse city dating back to 1716. We are within a short drive to the coast, hill country and many state parks.
The city is rich with history and offers an eclectic food scene, from Tex-Mex cuisine to BBQ to farm-to-market food. The San Antonio River walk also gives travelers a relaxing and scenic way of enjoying the sights of the city.
