Pioneer is looking for an ambulatory equine veterinarian with a passion for sport horse medicine to service our Eat Bay clientele.  The position is based in the East Bay, with referral access and collaboration with Pioneer’s main hospital in Oakdale. No emergency on-call is required as emergencies are referred to the hospital.

The hospital is extremely well-equipped with the resources to excel in case work-up and diagnosis, including but not limited to a large lameness pad with varied footing, digital radiography, large bore CT, a 1.5 tesla MRI, endoscopy, and digital ultrasound.  The surgical facilities are state of the art with 2 large surgical suites and four induction/recovery stalls.

The East Bay of the San Francisco Area includes Walnut Creek, Pleasanton, Livermore and Castro Valley.  This horse-rich locale sits about 30 minutes east of San Francisco and is a diverse area with rolling hills and open space as well as access to urban amenities.
