Are you an experienced or intern-trained clinician interested in making a transition from the "front lines" to managing hospitalized patients?  Are you seeking the following from your work environment:

1. CULTURE -  Culture takes work to make sure the RIGHT people are in the RIGHT positions to continue to foster the established culture as well as to help it grow in the right direction.  Does the practice invest time and resources to ensure the culture is maintained?

2. FLEXIBILITY - does the employer care about YOU as an individual?  Do they offer a work schedule that takes YOUR needs into consideration and balances them with the needs of the hospital?

3. GROWTH - does the employer support your continued professional development in both clinical arenas as well as leadership skills?  Does the employer support the learning of new skills and the addition of new equipment such that you can advance your skills and continue to practice the highest standards of care?  And what about personal growth - does the employer truly honor a work-life balance such that you can have hobbies and find enjoyment in activities outside of work?

4. WELL-BEING - and this includes ALL staff.  Does the employer support the well-being of ALL staff members such that the work environment is an inclusive and healthy work space for all?

5. COMMUNITY PRESENCE - does the employer recognize the variable financial status of its clientele (including rescue organizations) and forge relationships with various financial aid groups to try to help those pets and pet owners in need receive care (who otherwise could not afford care)?  Does the employer work with the local police department to advocate for pets of abuse and neglect so that they have a voice?

We check ALL those boxes above.

The Veterinary Medical Center of Central NY is growing, and we are looking for team members like YOU.  We are proud to be only VECCS level 1 facilities in central/upstate NY.

PLUS - we  offer STOCK to ALL employees - this should really help with student debt!
In addition, we are proud to offer EARLY COMPENSATION for residents who decide to join our team before his/her/their residency is completed.  What does this mean for you?  GET PAID NOW!

The VMC is currently 18,000 sq ft hospital (with plans for upcoming new hospital build) that currently offers 24 hour emergency in addition to Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Radiology,  Anesthesiology and Critical Care. In addition, within the VMC exists CARE, a complementary rehabilitation and pain management center. The CC Service has its own technical team to ensure efficient case management and clinician support. Attached to the VMC is an IDEXX reference laboratory, which enables accurate test results with a fast turnaround time for hospitalized patients. The criticalists work 3-4 day shifts per week.

The hospital offers state-of-the-art equipment including the recent addition of HiFlo Nasal Oxygen.  Our technician team is second to none and is more than capable to help us manage our complex cases.  We are supported by a robust ER Service and contribute to the training to rotating interns and new ER docs through our ER mentorship program.

Please visit our website at www.vmccny.com for more information about our hospital. Interested applicants should contact Maureen Luschini VMD, DACVECC, Chief Medical Officer, through luschini@vmccny.com or call 315-446-7933.
