Busy mixed animal practice seeks a full and/or part time associate veterinarian(s). We are looking for a highly energetic and motivated individual who practices with utmost respect and compassion to join our tight knit team. We are focused on client education and providing quality, compassionate veterinary care at a reasonable cost. Applicant does not need to have any large animal experience, and may practice only with small animals, if desired. Applicant needs to have a current a PA Veterinary License.

Opening in April 2015, The Vetting Zoo is a very busy 3000 sq ft newly built veterinary hospital, located in beautiful Central Pennsylvania, minutes from Hershey and Harrisburg, 1.5 hours from Philadelphia and only about 2 hours from Baltimore. We draw in over 40 new clients per month and continue to grow on a daily basis.

Duties include in-office appointments, house calls, and surgery (including dental procedures), totaling 40-50 hours per week.  Our office hours are 7am-9pm Monday-Thursday and 7am-7pm Friday, no Saturday or Sunday scheduled office hours.  In-house appointments are provided during the day and evenings.

EQUIPMENT:

- Surgical suite (2 dedicated areas)

- Dental suite

- In-house IDEXX laboratory bloodwork instrumentation, which includes Procyte, Catalyst, SediVue Urine Sediment Analyzer, SnapShot/SnapPro

- Digital radiography

- ECG capability

- Doppler blood pressure measurement

- Cold Laser Therapy (Summus)

- TonoVet Tonometer

HOUSE CALL SERVICES:

We are one of the only veterinary hospitals in our region that offers house call services for clients who are not able to bring their pets into our facility. We have a dedicated vehicle for the house call services, and service a 75 mile area. House calls provide the veterinarian with an opportunity to get out of the office, and see the patients in their own environments, which is helpful in certain cases.

EMERGENCY:

We currently refer our after-hour and weekend/holiday emergencies to local emergency clinics. We do sometimes have hospitalized patients over the weekend, and the veterinarians share the responsibilities of managing these cases. Therefore, we have a veterinarian and veterinary technician on-call over the weekend and holidays for their immediate care.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:

The Vetting Zoo is dedicated to helping local rescue and spay-neuter groups. We work with a number of rescues to provide veterinary care, as well as participate in a 2-day trap-neuter-return clinic for feral cats each month. In addition, The Vetting Zoo provides two-three low cost vaccine clinics per month.

If The Vetting Zoo sounds like a place you'd like to call home, please submit a resume to management@thevettingzoo.com. You can visit our website at www.thevettingzoo.com, or visit us on Facebook!  NEW GRADUATES ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY!
