Apple Tree Animal Clinic is seeking an enthusiastic and fun full time veterinarian! We are a small animal practice located in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. Two hours from Baltimore and an hour and a half from DC, the bustling city lights are easily accessible while still living the quiet life. The beautful and historic town of Harper's Ferry is a short drive away. We are also located in the heart of the civil war battlefields with Gettysburg a short drive north and Antietem in our backyard. With a 4 day work week you will have plenty of time to explore the area so bring the family! We find work-life balance is essential to being able to provide the caring and compassionate medicine we strive for.

We are a 1.5 doctor practice that is looking to expand. We are under new ownership that is focused on providing quality medicine while expanding the clinic. While we are currently only offering general medicine to cats and dogs we would ABSOLUTELY love to expand into exotic and pocket pet medicine OR if you have a special interest in orthopedics or a niche aspect of veterinary medicine we are open to new ideas and offering our amazing clients the best of care! 

Salary is dependent on experience and negotiable

Experience is preferred, however new graduates would absolutely be considered!

Personal Requirements for the Ideal Candidate

  • Ability to work as a team member as well as a doctor
  • Interest in marketing and expansion of practice
  • Display tact and diplomacy when communicating with staff and clients
  • Perform basic computer skills -- records are electronic
  • Energetic and Enthusiast
  • Passionate about Veterinary Medicine

Professional Requirements

  • Provide compassionate care to patients
  • Works with practice owner to set practice medical policies and procedures in order to offer the best medicine possible
  • Attend required continueing education.
  • Communicate objectives, motivate staff, build and maintain morale; maintain core values and standards.
  • Set an example for the staff when communicating with clients
  • Promote cooperative working environment among staff members; understand the value of teamwork; show enthusiasm and willingness to perform tasks as necessary to help the practice function as a unit.
  • Maintain positive, cooperative relationships with other employees.
  • Perform physical examinations using preliminary data provided by the veterinary technicians/assistants; diagnose physical conditions and present diagnostic and treatment alternatives to the client while being sensitive to their emotional as well financial needs
  • Performs medical, surgical and dental procedures; provides emergency services (when necessary) in accordance with standard of care.
  • Interpret the results of laboratory procedures and determine the appropriate protocol based on the results; read radiographs and ultrasounds and determine the appopriate protocol based on findings
  • Promptly and accurately update client records in electronic system
