Work-Life Balance, Great Benefits, Payments toward student loans, Great staff, Fun place to work. Full-time and part-time veterinarian positions available.  Looking for a practice to learn great medicine? Do you want to challenge yourself, work smart, have a lot of fun? Looking for a small town where you can practice great medicine, make good money, raise a family and be close enough to everything? Then come and work for us! We are a multi doctor, AAHA-certified, small animal general practice in NE Ohio. We are a long-established practice that provides quality medicine to a large client base. We have lots of modern equipment and the experienced staff that you need to manage your patients. If you are looking for a practice that provides excellent medicine, where "progressive medicine" means something, that provides you the tools to diagnose and treat your patients, that allows you to enjoy your life after work, where you can be out in the country but able to drive to the city within an hour, and, most of all, where you can have fun and enjoy your job, then give us a call! Sense of humor required.

Fun Facts:  We are looking for 2 or more veterinarians for an AAHA certified practice.   There are 2 separate practices, one is the day time general practice providing wellness, sick, general surgery, and urgent care with the occasional emergency.  Then we have the Urgent Care practice, providing after hour urgent care, necessary surgeries and minor to intermediate emergency care.   We have 4 vets and 24 staff and we are one of the busiest veterinary hospitals in our area.  We are an all female practice (oops - I forgot we have two men that work with us - a receptionist/vet assistant on the Urgent Care and our practice manager.  But they fit right in :).  Staff actually enjoy working together, some eat lunch together, some get together after work, some even go so far as do exercise together.  Both shifts communicate and work together well - imagine that - communication, whew, who knew?  Because we have an after hour Urgent Care Center that is open until midnight, there are NO after hour emergencies, NO on-call duties and NO overnighters on either shift.  Major emergencies are referred out to one of the local emergency centers in Akron, Pennsylvannia or Canton.   Patients needing 24 hour care are stabalized and transferred to a 24 hour service, if possible.

Our community:  We may be a small town, but we are close to lots of stuff.  Pittsburgh is about 1 hour away, the Steelers' statium is only 1 1/2 hours away,  Pittsburgh international airport is 45 minutes away.  Cleveland is about 1 hour north of us.  Youngstown is 30 minutes from us.  Columbus is 4 hours south of us.  All have activities for single people, married couples, and families with night life, outdoor family events, indoor family events, and so on.  Then there are the lakes near by, fishing all year round if you like ice fishing, camping, boating, wine festivals, renaissance festivals, county fairs and all the usual summer fun.  There are lots of care centered activities that occur year round with car fairs, antique car shows, car races, etc.  The Fall brings pumpkin festivals, Cosplay festivals and hay rides, grade school and high school activities (we have an active high school drama club).  Winter is cold - hey this is the North, but we have winter activities as well, sking, snowboarding, and winter sports, winter camping and ice fishing.  Spring brings out our spring fever and lots of spring activities.  We are not a farming community, but there are farms all around us.  There are good public and private schools and colleges in the area as well.

What do our clients think?  You can check out our reviews online but they come to us because of our reputation for excellence, exceptional client communication with expert and compassionate care of their pets.  We have a client friendly and medically experienced staff. We meet all of AAHA's standards with a full in-house lab (image getting your lab results in 1 hour or less), ultrasound, dental machines, digital x-ray machines (with ability to send out to radiologist), 2 surgery suites, isolation room, large treatment area, ICU units and critical care cages, with facility to house up to 34 patients.   We are a high tech hospital because Dr. Brooks loves the toys and believes in using technology to provide great medicine.

Salary and benefits:  We can compete with the corporate companies.  We offer highly competitive salaries with a generous sign on bonus. Excellent benefits include paid time off, 100% reimbursement of individual’s health insurance premiums, help with student loan payments, paid CE and licensing fees, and 100% paid liability and malpractice insurance. Mentoring and additional training is available.  Full-time veterinarians are paid a flat salary if they are a new grad for the first year, then transition to a Pro-Sal form of salary.  Full-time experienced vets are paid on a Pro-Sal basis.  Part-time veterinarians' salaries are more complicated as they are paid by the shift.  The more shifts you work, the more money you make and the more benefits you obtain.

So, that's us, we really need vets, please apply, you won't regret it.

Our website, AdamsonVeterinaryServices.com, provides more information on the staff, services and our beautiful, newly renovated hospital.

Sense of Humor required.  Ability to work some weekends (not all) and provide quality medicine. With Mentoring and additional training for new grads, candidates will be able to manage small animal preventative care, surgery cases, internal medicine cases and emergency cases. Surgery and emergency skills are taught or mentored.

We are a High Tech practice so computer skills are absolutely required.  Good communication skills and excellent "bedside manner".  Ability to work with a team to provide quality medicine.  Ability to learn and take directions from experienced veterinarians and staff.

NOTES:
2 openings.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.

Additional Salary Information: PT vet working 2 shifts a week is $50,000/yr - $55,000yr ($480/shift - $525/shift). FT vet is $85,000/yr - $100,000/yr. Generous sign on bonus/relocation bonus. We can compete with the corporate compaies with excellent benefits including paid time off, help with student loan payments, paid CE, licensing fees,100% paid liability/malpractice insurance and reimbursement of health care premiums.

About Adamson Veterinary Services, Salem, Ohio
We are a progressive, growing, multi-doctor practice that believes in using education, skills, and modern technology to provide quality medicine for our patients while tailoring it to the client's needs and income. As a busy practice (day-practice and after hour urgent and emergency care practice) we provide medical care that combines general practice, urgent and emergency care. We don’t just provide routine care, but more advance care as well. We are really a new type of hybrid practice that provide routine services and sick/urgent care services that fall between a general practice and a specialty practice. In 2018 we opened an after hour Urgent Care and Emergent Care service, with emphasis on Urgent, open only 5 days a week (Friday - Tuesday) until midnight. The hospital is a large modern and fully equipped 9,000 sq ft medical facility that was designed to create a calm and fear free environment (a virtual tour is available on our website AdamsonVeterinaryServices.com). We are AAHA certified and have a full in-house lab, ultrasound, dental machines, digital x-ray machine electro-cautery unit, 2 large surgery suites, multiple full parameter monitors and anesthesia machines, is...olation room, portable oxygen cage, Snyder ICU machine, 2 ICU isolettes, with facility to house up to 34 sick patients. We have a large waiting room split into two sections to divide dogs and cats. The day general practice is open 7 days a week and the urgent care is open 5 days a week with the plan on eventually being open 7 days a week in the next 3 years. We do not have boarding facilities, the owner does not believe in housing sick and well patients together. Community profile: Although Salem is a small town, it has a lot to recommend it. There are several large metropolitan areas (Youngstown, Akron, Canton, Cleveland and Pittsburg) within minutes of Salem. There are small manufacturing companies and smaller service companies providing jobs for the area residents. There are a lot of community activities for individuals as well as families. There is a country club with a golf course, a community center with gym facilities and pool, and several small local lakes for boating and fishing. Parks and hiking facilities are close by. The grade school and secondary schools are excellent for those individuals interested in them for children. Kent State community college has a branch just outside Salem for more advanced studies. Universities are close by. Cars and trucks are a big thing in our area and we have several community activities associated with them. Quaker Raceway is just outside town for the car enthusiast. Major sports arenas are within an hour. Major highways to all parts of the country within minutes of Salem. We may be a small community, but we have much to offer.
