About us

Denver Animal Emergency opened its doors in 2016 as an after-hours emergency facility. Since that time we have grown to a 5 doctor practice that operates 24/7, 365. We are focused on providing excellent veterinary medicine and have earned a reputation for attracting and developing high quality Vets and Veterinary Technicians.

Our location

Our hospital is located just 2 miles from Lake Norman, a popular relaxation destination and desired location for many working in the city of Charlotte. We are just 25 minutes North of Charlotte, NC. We see a large variety of clients and serve over 35 referring general practices. This is an ideal area to live for those who enjoy a flexible lifestyle with a wide range of options for housing, schools, sports, activities and travel. The many neighboring towns and cities offer several options for varied living arrangements.

DVM Role

As a Veterinary Professional you already have a pretty good idea as to the day-to-day requirements of being a talented Emergency & Critical Care Veterinarian. Here are some of the key skills and abilities that we are seeking that are particularly relevant to this opportunity:

  • Examine and triage pets to promptly diagnose their short and long-term health issues and recommend best practice emergency treatment
  • Consult with direct clients and referring clinics regarding immediate, solutions-based care for their pets
  • Soft tissue surgery at an advanced level – training and support provided
  • The ability to prepare and deliver internal Emergency and Critical Care skills training to the entire team

Expectations of DVM

Your qualifications are certainly essential to your success in this role and it is expected that you will demonstrate talent and skill as a Emergency & Critical Care Veterinarian. In addition, these personal qualities are similarly important to us:

  • Ability to quickly build rapport with customers, fellow team member and management
  • An adept learner willing to explore new horizons and accept change when based on sound professional foundations
  • Knowing that great results are only achieved through teamwork accomplished through mutual respect

Denver Animal Emergency provides emergency care to Denver, N.C., the Lake Norman Area, and Lincoln County. We also provide supervised hospitalization for critical care patients. We strive to work well with all surrounding hospitals taking their patients and returning them for further care when possible. Using superior communication and discharge instructions to get the best care for all of our patients.
