Seeking two small animal surgeons - one in small animal soft tissue surgery and one in small animal orthopedic surgery or two general surgeons willing to work in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.

Looking for enthusiastic clinicians with a passion for teaching to join our team to provide instruction, consultation and patient care at the Boren Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Opportunity to actively participate in one-on-one training of veterinary interns and students as well as work alongside colleagues to provide the highest standard of veterinary care.

Full-time position with an excellent benefits package, including a generous sign-on bonus, 4 weeks of vacation, start-up funding for clinical equipment or research endeavors, and office electronics. Funding support for conference (continuing education) travel is provided. Ability to do up to 4 weeks of consultation work outside our referral area is also included. The positions offer opportunities to develop innovative teaching programs in the classroom and clinical setting as well as participation in collaborative research/scholarship activities. Professional rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The teaching hospital is well-equipped to see a diverse caseload of soft tissue, orthopedic, and neurosurgical cases, including minimally invasive procedures. A state-of-the-art, fully integrated minimally invasive surgical suite is under construction to complement the wide variety of existing equipment available.

A DVM degree or equivalent is required. Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS), European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS), or candidates qualified to take the ACVS/ECVS certification examination will be considered.

Stillwater is a town of approximately 50,000 year-round residents where the positive attributes of a small town are combined with many amenities and opportunities usually found only in larger cities situated in beautiful countryside. Additionally, Oklahoma is a state of friendly people, numerous outdoor recreational opportunities, two uniquely different larger cities within an easy hour’s drive of Stillwater, the excitement of Big XII college sports events, as well as professional events.

Providing instruction, consultation and patient care. One-on-one training of veterinary interns and students and working with colleagues to provide the highest standard of veterinary care.
