Ethos Veterinary Emergency Training (E-VET) Program

Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for our 9-month training and mentorship program. We are looking for individuals who are team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable to train with us and transition into an ER position at one of our 24 hospitals throughout the United States.

The Ethos Veterinary Emergency Training (E-VET) Program

The E-VET Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the E-VET program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work balance.  

The E-VET program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation-based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidence-based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.

Program Duration/Commitment:

• 9-month training program based in Woburn, Massachusetts
• 2-year commitment as an ER clinician at an Ethos hospital following training

Location:

• First 9 months at the Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital (Woburn, MA)
• Location of post-training ER position to be decided on an individual basis

Program Length:

• Start: June 14, 2021
• End: March 12, 2022

Program Highlights:

• 5-day workweek consisting of 4 clinical days, 1 didactic day, and 2 consecutive days off each week
• Monthly housing stipend during the program
• Work alongside highly skilled veterinary professionals on every shift
• 10 weeks of rotations though various specialty departments in addition to your ER rotations
• Ample opportunity to assist in and perform surgical procedures if desired
