Voted the Best of Gloucester County, NJ, Greenfields Veterinary Associates is a progressive small animal practice in Mantua, NJ, and we are looking to add a full-time veterinarian to our team!  New graduates as well as experienced doctors are welcomed!

We are an AAHA-accredited, 5-doctor practice that is seeking a veterinarian who cares about people and animals.  We offer diagnostic ultrasound, digital radiography, digital dental radiography (for every COHAT we perform), anesthetic monitoring equipment, CO2 surgical laser, etc.

When you meet us, you’ll see that we aren’t just doctors and staff — we are a TEAM.  From the veterinarians to the client care representatives to the veterinary technicians and assistants, we are all dedicated to making lives better for both pets and people.  We care about our patients, our clients, each other, and our community.  As advocates for companion animals, we are here to guide and support humans who love and care for their pet family members.

 Essential Responsibilities and Tasks

Ensure the safety of pets, clients, and all of us by using safe, humane restraint techniques, following AAHA protocols, and maintaining clean and organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and a sterile surgical suite.

  1. Obtain relevant medical history and other relevant information from clients, and maintain proper and complete medical records, utilizing a SOAP or modified SOAP format.
  2. Educate clients about pet health needs, diagnoses and treatment plans, hospital care and services, referral information, and other related information.
  3. Effectively communicate differential diagnoses and treatment plan to veterinary medical team and client.
  4. Understand and follow state guidelines and AAHA standards regarding duties of veterinary assistants and licensed veterinary technicians.

 Capabilities and Experience

  1. Ability to multi-task.
  2. Organizational ability: following a systematic approach in carrying out assignments.
  3. Surgical skills: able to perform basic surgeries (or eager to learn, in the case of a new graduate).
  4. Client service skills: ensuring that the team provides the client with attentive, courteous, and informative services.
  5. Compassionate commitment to pet care: ensuring that team members confidently present pet treatment recommendations and associated fees as an advocate for the pet, gaining the client’s agreement to proceed with the treatment most appropriate to the pet’s current condition and long-term health, whenever possible.

Job requirements

  1. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (VMD/DVM) or equivalent degree required.
  2. License in good standing in the state of NJ, or able to become licensed in NJ.
  3. Licensed with the DEA, or able to become licensed with the DEA.
