Destination Pet - Dugan's Veterinary Clinic is opening in March, as a full-service, veterinary medical facility, located in Aurora, Colorado. Our professional and courteous staff provides the best possible medical, surgical, and dental care to our highly-valued patients. We are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, preventive health care, and health-related educational opportunities to our clients. Our facility is completely equipped to handle all aspects of our client's pets needs. We cater to companion animals.

Objective: Responsible for overseeing the medical operations within the hospital, serving as a mentor to the medical staff. Leading the advancement of high-quality patient care and client service.

What we are:

  • Offer many services including Preventative Care, Surgery, Dentistry, Digital Radiographs, Ultrasound. We also offer an entire array of emergency and urgent care surgeries.  Some of these surgeries are pyometra, foreign body surgery, c-sections, amputations, and fracture repairs, to name a few.

  • Experienced preferred but not necessary

Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Serve as a mentor to staff, providing stability and leadership within the Hospital. 
  • Supporting DVMs to develop an understanding and best practices of how behaviors impact revenue. 
  • Provide DVM’s one on one development supporting quarterly production, reviewing production performance, and coach for improvement.
  • Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations
  • Meet regularly with the Hospital Manager to review controllable costs: DVM and Support Payroll, Inventory
  • Work in collaboration with the Hospital Manager to maintain and build our relationships with the referring community.
  • Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily running/flow of hospital from intake to discharge. 
  • Play a significant part in the decision-making process and implementation of any new initiatives within their hospital.
  • Technically advanced in their field and possess strong emotional intelligence; those who are self-aware, have positive attitudes, authenticity, and empathy toward others.
  • Participate in weekly operational conference calls. 
  • Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels.
  • Have strong proven leadership abilities, strong mentoring and team-building skills, excellent communication with colleagues and the referring community, and possess a foundation of business skills to work alongside the Hospital Director to support the growing success of the hospital.

Clinical Focus:

  • Medical Director providing clinical, surgical, and specialty responsibilities (60-80% of the time)
  • Examines, diagnoses, Treats animals surgically or medically.
  • Operate medical equipment
  • Client communication about care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication

Requirements:
Applicants must be in good standing with the state board. A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (VMD/DVM) degree, or equivalent, is required from an accredited university.

NOTES:

Additional Salary Information: Salary, Pro/Sal w/ 20% production, or 100% Production
