Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) is looking for an Emergency Department Lead to join our amazing doctor team. Our emergency veterinarians at GCVS enjoy both our dedicated, experienced support staff of 40+, as well as scribes to help with note taking, updating patient records etc.  So our doctors spend more time practicing, less time on administration.

The ER Department lead will manage the team of emergency doctors supporting them in their role of providing exceptional patient care. The lead will also work with hospital leadership to ensure smooth and efficient working relationships within the entire hospital.

Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists has been serving Texas pets, their owners and referral veterinarians for more than 30 years. Our core values of Compassion, Ethics, Knowledge, Collaboration and Quality guide all of our decision making and provide a framework that enables us to provide best in class medicine. Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists partnered with the Compassion-First Pet Hospitals in 2016 to accelerate our growth and network with other best-in-class specialty and emergency hospitals. Our 57,000 sq ft. facility has a 1.5 T MRI, 64 slice CT, a Varian Halcyon radiation therapy system capable of advanced radiation therapy modalities as well as an Interventional Radiology Suite.

GCVS currently has specialty practices in Surgery, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Dentistry and Oral Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Animal Rehabilitation and Fitness, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology and Allergy, Avian and Exotics, Cardiology, and Anesthesiology. In addition to the specialty services, GCVS operates a 24/7/365 emergency service within the specialty hospital.

 Qualifications:

  • Five years of experience as a veterinarian, preferably in an ER/Specialty setting
  • Board-certified veterinary specialist or experienced emergency veterinarian preferred

Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists offers a competitive compensation package as well as a full range of benefits including health, dental, vision, long-term disability, life insurance, time off for vacation and CE, and a 401(k) plan.
