Job Description:

VCA Delaware Valley Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced veterinarian to lead our team as Medical Director in beautiful Langhorne, PA!

We are a full-service hospital proudly serving the communities of Lower Bucks County since 1954. VCA Delaware Valley offers its patients and clients excellent service and medical care, combining traditional medicine along with alternative choices. Services include yearly wellness care and vaccines, routine spays and neuters, dentistry, elective and routine surgeries, radiography, bloodwork, therapeutic laser, and acupuncture. Some small mammals/pocket pets (rabbits, ferrets, chinchillas, hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, and mice) are seen as well.

ABOUT THE HOSPITAL:

  • Recently moved to a newly renovated, state-of-the-art, spacious building with six exam rooms, large treatment area, and separate surgery and dental suites.
  • Dental x-ray, tonometry, digital x-ray system offers very detailed, fast, readable results
  • Excellent anesthesia monitoring by trained technicians, including Cardell CO2 C-STAT monitors.  Excellent pain management and recovery protocols.
  • Complete pharmacy with a large inventory of established pharmaceuticals, nutritional and herbal supplements
  • AAHA certified

 ABOUT THE TEAM:

  • Stable, experienced team who are very supportive of one another. Several of the staff have been working at Delaware Valley for many years, and some for over 25+ years.  Long-term, stable doctor team of 4 (3 full time and 1 part time).
  • Staff always focuses on delivering great client service, excellent patient care, and quality medicine.
  • Great teamwork is a priority and a large part of the culture of the hospital.

VCA Delaware Valley is located in beautiful Bucks County, Pennsylvania close to the towns of Bristol, Fairless Hills, Langhorne, Yardley, and Fallsington. We are a short distance from the NJ border, and approximately 40 minutes from Philadelphia.  The county's northern regions (Upper Bucks) are renowned for their natural scenery, farmland, colonial history, and proximity to major urban areas (Philadelphia, New York City, Allentown, Reading and Atlantic City). Popular attractions in Bucks County include the shops and studios of New Hope, Peddler's Village (in Lahaska), Washington Crossing Historic Park, New Hope and Ivyland Railroad, and Bucks County River Country. Rice's Market near Lahaska is a popular destination on Tuesday mornings. Quakertown Farmer's Market is a popular shopping destination on weekends.

Southern Bucks (Lower Bucks) is home to two large shopping centers, casino, and horse-racing park.  There are several beautiful parks like Tyler State Park in Newtown and Core Creek Park in Langhorne. Park roads, trails, and facilities are carefully nestled within the original farm and woodland setting.  These parks a great for hiking, picnicking, horseback riding, walking and biking. Lake Luxembourg is open for fishing, ice fishing and boating. Part of the lake is open in winter months for ice skating. You will also find several playgrounds, ball fields, tennis courts, a nature area, and an off- leash Dog Park.

The Medical Director is responsible for establishing the medical quality and patient care practiced by all doctors in the hospital. The MD achieves this through strong leadership and serving as a mentor and role model for the associate veterinarians and staff.  A MD should demonstrate a strong work ethic, integrity, and a consistent positive attitude. The MD is also an integral part of the hospital management team responsible for the overall financial performance of the hospital, and helps create and drive the overall direction for the hospital that will achieve positive results. The MD also fulfills all of the duties of a staff veterinarian in addition to the specific responsibilities of Medical Director.
