*COVID restrictions dependent til further notice*  We are an active equine sports medicine practice that welcomes energetic, enthusiastic EQUINE oriented veterinary or pre-vet students to gain experience in equine practice.   Students should have a strong horse background to learn from our experienced team that provides top care to equine athletes of all disciplines.  We perform soundness and prepurchase examinations, poor-performance work-ups , advanced diagnostic imaging and therapies to sport horses and thoroughbreds as well as providing wellness and medical care to our patients. Students will participate in delivery of diagnostic services,  outpatient surgical procedures and therapies in both clinic and ambulatory settings

Based out of the Fair Hill Training Center in Elkton, MD, our outpatient clinic also partners with Fair Hill Hyperbaric Oxygen Services; we provide specialized and individual care to horses within a 45 minute radius in MD, PA & DE.  We offer an excellent work setting with many learning opportunities.

Veterinary students eligible for up to three week rotation.  Pre-vet students eligible for one week.  MUST have previous equine experience.

About Equine Veterinary Care @ Fair Hill Training Center
Externships: Equine Veterinary Care was established in 1993 at the Fair Hill Training Center, located just north of Elkton, Maryland. A four doctor practice with ambulatory, inpatient and outpatient components, Equine Veterinary Care offers a wide variety of state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment options. We specialize in sports medicine cases, soundness examinations, digital imaging and pre-purchase evaluations of race and sport horses. In addition, we offer intensive medical care of colic patients, respiratory cases and severe wounds and perform elective surgical procedures at our clinic.
