Description

Emory University's School of Medicine: Division of Animal Resources (DAR) is seeking a Veterinary Technician II  to join their Clinical Service team!

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Under general supervision, this position assists the veterinarians and researchers in surgery and radiology, animal care, treatments, and diagnostic and preventative procedures.
  • Maintains medical records and inventory.
  • Provides non-surgical technical assistance to researchers as directed.
  • Assisting with management and maintenance of treatment and triage areas and equipment.
  • Participating in the weekend and holiday on-call rotation schedule with DAR treatment/triage veterinary staff.
  • Provide clinical care for animals as needed, and other related duties as assigned.
  • Employees in this classification may be required to work with, take special precautions against and/or be immunized against hazardous agents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience as a veterinary technician,

OR

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience as an animal care technician

OR

  • Graduation from a two year veterinary technician program and one year of veterinary technician experience.

 

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
