Shawme Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced full-time Managing Veterinarian to join our busy, well established 4-DVM small animal practice in Sandwich, MA.  We have been providing exceptional veterinary services to our beautiful seaside community since 2001.  Our practice operates out of a newly constructed (2015) facility that includes a fully trained team of technicians and receptionists who allow our veterinarians to focus on practicing progressive quality medicine and fostering long-term relationships with our patients and clients.  Shawme is a positive, collaborative environment with exceptional clients and a staff that has fun doing what we love.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a full-time Managing DVM (Medical Director) position (35-40 hours/week).  The ideal candidate will bring a strong surgical and dental focus and possess a dedication to providing superior care for our patients and clients when they need us.  Our practice is proud to offer our doctors ultrasonography, digital radiology (general and dental), and a full surgical and dental suite.

The Managing DVM is responsible for providing medical leadership in the hospital, managing associate veterinarians, and assuring regulatory compliance relating to the practice of veterinary medicine.  In partnership with the Hospital Manager, the Managing DVM is also responsible for the financial performance and general operations of the hospital under the guidance of Divisional Leadership.  This position provides for regional growth opportunities within a supportive network of hospitals and offers above average compensation with a leadership focus.

Competitive Pay & Benefits include:

  • Generous Paid Time Off
  • Employer Contribution to Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage
  • Plentiful Continuing Education Budget
  • Paid Licensure (DEA, MA)
  • Production and Quarterly Bonus Opportunities
  • Paid Holidays Off
  • 401k Plan

Just minutes from the Cape Cod Canal, our team gets to enjoy all of what Cape Cod has to offer.   Sandwich is a quiet seaside town with a population of well-educated, genuine individuals, a strong school system, great shops & restaurants and many wonderful hiking & biking trails, fishing spots and beaches to explore.
