Tired of the daily caseload of vaccinations, but not quite ready for the variety of critical care cases? Northeast Indiana Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital , located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is looking to hire Urgent Care Veterinarians that focus on non-critical cases that enter the emergency department.

We are interested in speaking to internship trained candidates and experienced GP or ER clinicians for part time or full time positions.

This position will include care and services of non-critical care cases, to include skin lacerations, vomiting, bite wounds, ear infections, eye and skin issues, etc. The schedule will consist of 8-hour shifts, likely being 12p-8p, with no overnights!

NIVES serves the pet owners and veterinarians in the tri-state region of NE Indiana, SE Michigan and NW Ohio. Our team approach to means you'll have the support of specialists and experienced doctors to tackle difficult cases. Highly trained support staff and registered veterinary technicians work alongside our doctors. Each day the collaboration of the team starts and ends with daily case rounds with our board-certified specialists, ER clinicians and technicians. NIVES believes in teaching and supporting the next generation of doctors and routinely hosts students from around the world as part of our passion for professional development.

 

We offer state of the art care by providing:

· Digital radiography

  • CT
  • Ultrasound
  • Endoscopy

· Snyder ICU unit

· Companion LASER

  • Chemotherapy

· In-house lab including standard full blood analysis, I-Stat 1 handheld analyzer, point of care glucometers, coagulation monitoring (PT/PTT), microscope and blood typing & cross-matching

· In hospital blood donor program

· Noninvasive and invasive blood pressure monitoring

· Continued central venous pressure monitoring

Fort Wayne is the 2nd largest city in Indiana with a superior cost of living. Combined with great schools, Fort Wayne is a great place to raise a family. Enjoy big city amenities with a suburban feel. There are over 85 public parks and trails, children's zoo, a thriving arts community, museums and cultural events in addition to several sports teams. We enjoy excellent shops and restaurants and our only 2-3 hours from several larger metropolitan areas such as Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit and Cincinnati. There are several great international companies in our area. Most importantly, the community continues to support our hospital.
