Associate Veterinarian (DVM)

Delaney Veterinary Services (DVS) is seeking to add to our Doctor of Veterinary Medicine team. DVS is a primary and referral equine facility serving the greater Edmonton area in central Alberta. We currently provide referral services (surgery/internal medicine/reproduction) to Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. We have a strong team of veterinarians including experienced general practitioners and a board-certified specialist in surgery. We have full time support staff as well as many part-time staff, students, externs and volunteers.

Our practice provides comprehensive services including surgery (elective and emergency), lameness, medicine, advanced reproductive techniques, general health, dentistry, chiropractic, acupuncture, rehabilitation and advanced imaging.

We are a large practice that offers the opportunity to practice high quality medicine with the luxury of the cooperation and consultation of highly specialized and regarded veterinarians in their fields. We have a very large and diverse client base to establish a niche in, while maintaining a happy work/life balance in a wonderful community.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable doing dental procedures, basic lameness workups, emergencies, reproduction ultrasonography, and medical exams. The position also includes a rotational on call emergency schedule. Our focus at DVS is the patient. We have a wide variety of equine patients including top racehorses, prize winning western performance horses, competitive English sport horses, ranch horses, pleasure/trail horses and backyard companions.

DVS is nestled in the rural county of Strathcona (population 100,000), 30 minutes from the heart of Edmonton, Alberta (population 1,000,000), and close enough for daily trips to the mountains! Exceptional recreational opportunities exist for any outdoor enthusiast. The recent grand opening of The Century Mile Racetrack and Casino and upcoming summer festivals are sure to bring endless nights of excitement to the city.

We offer a competitive package with an annual salary of $80,000 - $100,000 based on experience, plus a production bonus incentive. We will provide a relocation stipend, CE compensation, clothing allowance and paid emergency fees. A commission-based compensation structure and a compressed work week schedule are also options.
