Island Animal Hospital located in Saint Simons Island, GA is seeking an Associate DVM to join our practice!

Are you looking for a great team work environment that is blocks away from the beach? Island Animal Hospital is a full-service small animal hospital providing complete medical, surgical, dental, boarding and grooming care to our beach community and the surrounding area. Our team truly enjoys working together to care for our patients and building long-term relationships with our clients. At Island Animal Hospital, you will be a part of a team collaborating with other doctors on cases and sharing ideas and best practices. You will have the opportunity to build a clientele and care for your patients and pet parents at each stage of their lives. Located between Jacksonville, FL and Savannah, GA – St. Simons Island offers the best of both worlds; a quaint beach town within driving distance to larger cities.

About The Hospital

Island Animal Hospital has been well-established in the community for over 30 years. We have many long-term, loyal clients who appreciate our high level of client service and trust us to advise them on how best to care for their beloved pets. We also love our community and regularly give back by participating in community events.

We are a 3-doctor practice that provides progressive and complete medical care for our patients including: wellness and preventative care, general medicine, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, cold laser therapy, and acupuncture.

Our facility boasts:

·      4 Exam Rooms

·      Digital full-body radiography

·      Digital dental radiography

·      Dedicated surgery suite

·      Full in-house laboratory equipment and referral lab services

·      Strong relationships with nearby specialty facilities for advanced diagnostics, surgery and emergency care

·      Our doctors and majority of staff are Fear Free certified

·      5000 square-foot outdoor play yard with saltwater pool

Qualifications

A successful candidate would be a general practitioner who enjoys client education and possesses strong communication skills. We welcome a doctor who has a desire to continuously learn and grow personally and professionally. We are seeking a doctor who is passionate about providing high-quality medical and surgical care.

The candidate should also possess a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university and current licensure in good standing to practice in Georgia. Two or more years of experience in veterinary medicine is preferred. An interest in small exotics is a plus, but not required.

The largest of the Golden Isles, St. Simons captivates visitors with gorgeous scenery and fascinating history. This beautiful beach town is located just an hour from larger cities of Savannah and Jacksonville, FL. There’s lots to do on the island including multiple golf courses, tennis courts, miles of nature and bike trails with majestic live oaks, and countless shops and restaurants are just a few of the local attractions. The island is also rich in history with sites including the St. Simons Island Lighthouse (a working lighthouse in operation since 1872), the Bloody Marsh, Fort Frederica National Monument, historic Christ Church, and antebellum plantations dotting the island.
