Our clinic is a busy, rural mixed animal practice approximately 45% small animals and 55% large animals.  Species include dairy, beef (mostly cow/calf), canine, feline, small ruminants, equine, camelids, swine, elk, and other occasional exotics.  We currently have 3 veterinarians working full-time and sharing on-call responsibilities.  We have an additional veterinarian working semi full time with no call responsibilities.

While we provide on farm, ambulatory service to clients, we also have a full-service indoor large and small animal facility.  Large animal facility includes hydraulic squeeze chute, padded surgery room, surgery stocks for cattle, and isolation/IV calf room.  Small animal facilities include surgery room, procedures room, two exam rooms, and indoor and outdoor kennels.  We have on site CBC and serum chemistry instrumentation, digital x-ray, ultrasound-both a small animal unit and a large animal portable palpation unit, dental equipment for small animal use, and endoscope.  We practice general preventative and internal medicine services and provide soft tissue, limited orthopedic surgery, as well as, dental procedures.  We also provide emergency services for both large and small animal clientele.  For cases beyond the scope of our clinic, we have an excellent working relationship with referral clinics within a two hour drive.

A little bit about our practice area:  Buhl (approximately 4000 people) is a close knit community located approximately 20 miles west of Twin Falls, with an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities nearby.  Anything from hunting, fishing, camping, skiing, hiking, water sports, and mountain biking.  Shopping and urban entertainment are available in Twin Falls (less than 30 minutes) or Boise (less than 2 hours).  A moderate climate makes it enjoyable for all seasons.

We are looking for the right person to fill a full time mixed animal position with on call responsibilities.  One of our veterinarians would like to transition to retirement.  We are looking for someone with strong bovine palpation and large animal skills while being interested in the small animal side of our practice.  A new graduate is encouraged to apply.  Regular office hours are Monday-Friday, 8-5:30 and Saturdays, 8-2:00.  Saturdays do not have scheduled surgeries and have only one veterinarian working.  On call responsibilities will be shared on a rotating schedule between 4 veterinarians.  This equates to roughly one weekend a month and one weeknight.
