If you are looking for a full time position in veterinary medicine and would enjoy all that living in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado might bring, look closely at the opportunity below. If you feel it might be a fit, Alpine Animal Hospital in Carbondale, CO would love to hear from you.

We are hopeful to find an individual who wants to call the valley and Alpine Animal Hospital home.  Our needs are for an experienced small animal general practitioner and surgeon that is team oriented, motivated and wants to help people in our community be the best pet parents possible.  Here at Alpine our culture is extremely important and we are looking for the right person to help care for our patients and become part of our team.

We are a small animal and specialty dentistry practice with two doctors; one being a Board Certified Dentist that provides dental care for both companion animals and equines. We have a veterinary intern program that consists of an intern that practices both large and small animal and lives on the property and practices with us for a year. Support staff are highly trained, motivated and happy.  Specialized focus for the practice includes dentistry (both equine and small animal), surgery, preventative health and well-being.  We are a spacious and very well equipped AAHA accredited hospital and we also have Fear Free certified staff.

Our staff enthusiastically provides the very best care for our patients and empathy for our clients.  Located on the western slope of Colorado, our valley is a wonderful place to raise a family, play in the rivers and on the mountains, and pursue all kinds of outdoor activities.  We have quality schools and an abundance of small town social and cultural events.  Most of the valley is extremely pet friendly and our clients are interested in taking good care of their animals. We work hard to nurture long-term relationships and provide quality service that will serve our patients and our clients.  We are looking for someone who is interested in joining and enhancing these partnerships while maintaining positive work-life balance and job satisfaction.

Our work features:

  1. Ultrasound, digital x-ray, therapeutic laser, shockwave, endoscopy, a full-service lab and pharmacy, complete dental and surgical suites
  2. Ambulatory and home health care services
  3. A designated feline only room for our feline patients
  4.  Fear Free certified staff
  5. A designated comfort room and garden for saying good-bye to patients
  6. A 10,000 square foot facility that allows us to provide full service large and small animal services very efficiently (we share the building with a separate business; Alpine Equine Hospital, an equine and large animal veterinary service).

We are open six (6) days per week and all staff currently work a 4-day week with share in Saturday rotation.  Emergency on-call is available until 9pm Mon-Thurs but we also have an emergency clinic in the valley for small animal patients.

Our top candidate will be a licensed veterinarian in Colorado (or the ability to be so) and have at least 3 years’ experience - including a solid comfort level in providing routine surgeries. Comfort and experience with the unique aspects of rural practice is desired.

NOTES:

Additional Salary Information: We offer paid-time-off, continuing education and professional membership allowance, access to group health insurance plan and paid licensure fees. A moving allowance of $5000 will also be available with a signed employment contract.
