Wyomissing Animal Hospital (WAH) has been providing for pets in the greater Reading and Wyomissing area for over 20 years!  The hospital consists of eight doctors and 50 staff members who are dedicated to providing professional and loving care to all clients and their pets. 

As an accredited American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), we are recognized for our commitment to meeting the highest quality standards of care – a recognition that only 17% of small animal hospitals achieve in America and Canada! 

We are currently seeking a Medical Dorector/ Lead Veterinarian to join our growing client and referral base. Our hospital offers both in-house and outside laboratory capabilities (Idexx), digital radiology, excellent surgical monitoring capabilities, and improved computer software used throughout the hospital.

The Lead Veterinarian serves as the clinical leader of the Hospital. He or she is responsible for the ongoing evaluation and management of clinical practices as well as the delivery of patient care. The Lead Veterinarian works in partnership with the Practice Manager and CVP to ensure a high standard of medical case management and to provide an excellent experience for our clients and their pets, as well as carrying a clinical caseload similar to your hospital colleagues. By continuing the traditions of outstanding and compassionate care, the Lead Veterinarian will be instrumental in understanding and meeting the hospital’s  goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Role model for medical excellence for the entire team
  • Outstanding rapport with clients
  • Communicates with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, nutritional needs and preventative treatment
  • Performs physical exams and diagnostic-surgical-medical and dental procedures that delivers the highest quality care
  • Stays current with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine
  • Maintains client-patient medical/surgical records
  • Assists in the development of our team to ensure the highest quality of care and exceptional customer service

Qualifications:

  • DVM/VMD degree-
  • Licensure in good standing
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication
  • Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine
  • Models a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients
  • Commitment to ongoing educational growth

Salary Information:

We offer a competitive compensation package which includes a base salary plus commission bonuses, Health package with dental and vision coverage,401k, dues and CE reimbursement. A monthly leadership stipend also comes with this position!
