Our hospital is AAHA accredited and is a full service emergent care facility that functions as an extension of our local veterinary hospitals by providing overnight hospitalization for critical patients and access to emergency care for our clients. Our team consists of 6 ER DVMs and a support team of 22 that includes Licensed Veterinary Technicians, Assistants and Receptionists. We also offer Ophthalmology, Dermatology and Cardiology through specialty veterinarians within our facility.

AECC of Northern Alabama has moved to 24/7 care starting in July 2019. We are also open on all major holidays in order to provide emergent care for our community. Our hospital includes:

  • Intensive care unit with oxygen and temperature control
  • Surgical suite with state-of-the-art monitoring equipment, anesthesia machines and ventilator
  • Digital Radiography
  • Complete In-House Lab (Chem, CBC, Blood Gas, UA, and Coag analysis)
  • Ultrasonography
  • Limited equipment for exotic and pocket pets

The Managing Veterinarian is responsible for providing medical leadership for the hospital, managing associate veterinarians and assuring regulatory compliance relating to the practice of veterinary medicine. The Managing DVM is also responsible for creating an environment of teamwork in which quality medicine is delivered. In partnership with the Hospital Manager, the Managing DVM is responsible for the financial performance of the hospital, preparing operating and capital budgets, as well as meeting budget expectations. In addition, they are also responsible for directing staff and the overall management of the practice, under the direction of NVA Divisional Leadership.

We offer an outstanding benefit and compensation package and encourage professional growth and development to all of our team members.

Huntsville is Alabama's fourth largest city, which sprawls at the foot of a mountain in Northern Alabama. The city is nicknamed "The Rocket City" for its close history with U.S. space missions and home of NASA's Marshall Space Center. In the past few years, Huntsville has become a new launching pad for craft breweries, restaurants and creative entrepreneurs, which has created a boom of new places to see things to do. You'll find that Huntsville has a little of something for everyone - whether you're interested in education, arts, nature or just pure entertainment, this beautiful city has plenty to offer, including a ranking of "Most Affordable US City to Live In" by Livability! Additionally, we're located less than two hours from Nashville, TN and three from Atlanta, GA
