Are you a GP vet tired of the daily caseload of vaccines and wellness visits, but not quite comfortable tackling the most critical emergencies? Or are you an emergency doctor wanting off overnights but still wanting to see a wide variety of cases? Valley Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center, located in Winchester, Virginia, is looking to hire an Urgent Care Veterinarian that focuses on non-critical cases that enter the emergency department.

We are interested in speaking to internship trained candidates and/or experienced GP or ER clinicians for part time or full time positions.

This position will include care and services of non-critical emergencies, to include skin lacerations, vomiting, limping, ear infections, eye and skin issues, etc. The proposed schedule will consist of Friday, Sunday, and Monday with the option of 10a-10p or 12p-12a shifts. We are also open to discussing other scheduling options, for example—four 10 hour days or Friday, Saturday, and Monday.

Our 13,000 sq ft facility includes 6 exam rooms, 3 surgical suites, and a state-of-the-art ICU. We have a full array of diagnostic tools (including digital x-ray, 2 new ultrasounds, endoscopy, and complete in house lab) and extremely skilled support staff, including 11 full time LVTs, which enables our doctors to provide the highest quality medicine.

With this position, you’ll find a competitive benefits package including 401(k), CE, Health and Dental, Life, Disability and Professional Liability Insurance, professional dues and memberships, as well as a moving stipend.

Winchester is an independent city in Virginia, located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. It is about an hour and a half drive into Washington, DC and under an hour into the Northern Virginia area. Winchester is a rapidly growing area that has now been included in the suburbs of Northern Virginia but still boosts a bit of a rural vibe. Experience all 4 seasons with gorgeous mountain views that allow excellent hiking opportunities as well as winter skiing close by. Experience the lower cost of living compared to the larger cities but still is within short driving distance of the larger cities.
