Locust Grove Veterinary Clinic has an opening for full and part time small animal veterinarians. Our central location is an excellent balance of small city, university, suburban, and semi-rural areas, yet not too far from big cities (Washington, DC, Richmond, and Charlotteville, Va). We have a comfortably busy practice, with wonderful patients, clients, and an experienced, dedicated staff. Our practice includes quality medicine, surgery, and dentistry, along with integrative holistic therapies. We see cats and dogs, but are happy to add other small species. We are a friendly, progressive, family practice. We welcome a love of the work, good surgical and medical skills, a strong work ethic, and efficient time management skills. Good people skills, including a friendly, kind personal manner are appreciated. Interest or skills in ultrasound, dentistry, surgery, rehabilitation, and/or behavior are are welcome. We are very open to learning and sharing, and encourage professional development. There is an excellent local emergency and surgical center which handles all after hours emergencies, and can take daytime critical care patients. Full time associates enjoy a 4 day work week, with one half Saturday per month, ample vacation/personal time. Benefits include AVMA dues, Va. license, DEA, CE, liability insurance, retirement fund, health insurance, and at cost pet care for all employees. Salaries are competitive, based on experience. We welcome new graduates and experienced veterinarians. There is buy in/buy out potential for those interested in growing into a practice of their own. The area offers many activities in the area. Fredericksburg is a great small city with restaurants, shopping, music, arts, sports, and a university with a variety of activities. It's an easy drive to and from the clinic into town. Housing varies from condos to farms, lake communities, golf communities, and everything in between. If you love to hike, jog, bike, kayak, swim, or ride your horse, enjoy dog sports, etc., this is a great location. Our mission is to help as many animals as we can in our community. To that end we are active with the Orange County Humane Society and Cause 4 Paws, and help with other local rescue groups and shelters, We assist with some wildlife care as it comes our way.
