The Animal Emergency and Referral Center of York is seeking an experienced emergency veterinarian to work at our busy, 24-hour emergency and referral center. Our goal at AERC is to provide the best care when seconds count. The ideal candidate will have the goal of practicing high quality medicine in our fully equipped AAHA Accredited practice. Additionally, we have highly trained and dedicated technical staff. The clinic has digital radiology, ultrasound, full in-house IDEXX lab, and a large surgical suite. We are looking for an experienced emergency veterinarian to join our growing team. New graduates will also be considered.

Full-time and Part-time Veterinary TechniciansHoused in a new facility with advanced, state of the art medical equipment you will be working with the best and brightest veterinary medicine has to offer. You will have the opportunity to learn valuable skills when working with a comprehensive in-house lab, endoscope, anesthetic ventilator and digital radiology equipment. Veterinary technicians are responsible for the care of both hospitalized patients and outpatients. The involvement in patient care assigned to each individual will be based on their level of experience. The job responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Triage Incoming patients, accurately assess their medical priority and determine necessity to be taken to treatment area and /or isolation ward immediately.Perform treatments on hospitalized and/or outpatients according to doctors’ instructions, including lab work, imaging, venipuncture and catheter placement.Alert doctors to changes in patient status, results of tests performed, etc.Ensure patient comfort and cleanliness.Assists doctors with procedures.Administer anesthesia and monitor patient during surgical procedures.Interact with clients in a manner ...that supports AERC's vision and mission statement.Ensure proper use, handling and care of hospital equipmentRequirements/Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalentMust communicate well (written and verbal)Interest in working with animalsAble to follow directions and learn new skillsRecent veterinary technician experience, emergency experience a plus
